212 West 93rd Street New York, NY

212 West 93rd Street is a 14-story ground-up development located on the original site of Shaare Zedek Synagogue, the 3rd oldest congregation in Manhattan. The building had fallen into a state of disrepair, with a physical configuration at odds with its aging congregation. In 2016, Leyton Properties entered into an innovative ground lease structure to redevelop the building, which proved essential to securing the synagogues survival. The synagogue will be housed in the cellar, ground and second floors, while the condominium units will be constructed on 12 floors above.

Renowned architect Eran Chen of ODA was handpicked by Scott Leyton to complete his first new construction project on the Upper West Side. The unique design includes floor to ceiling windows, framed within a beveled UHPC façade, and an abundance of outdoor space for the residential units. In September 2018 the new construction commenced with an anticipated completion date of December 2021.
